Native to the Metro-Atlanta area, Jesseray (J-Ray) Dimalanta graduated from Woodland High School (Cartersville) in 2017. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of West Georgia. During his tenure, he performed in various ensembles such as the Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. He also served as principal percussionist in the Wind Ensemble.

J-Ray has been actively involved in the independent marching arts since 2019 with ensembles including Q2, Atlanta CV, and Atlanta Quest. During his time at Q2, he had received the honors of Rookie of the Year and Member of the Year. He had also played a role in helping Atlanta CV achieve their first high percussion award.

As a freelance educator, J-Ray has worked at numerous middle and high schools in the Metro-Atlanta and Carrollton area. He currently serves as Percussion Coordinator for the West Georgia Winds Honor Band. He is excited to continue to build with CV for his third year!
