Victor Mooney Conceptual Designer and Guard Caption Head

During his career in the marching arts, Victor has served primarily as a Color Guard Director/Show Designer in Upstate South Carolina. His groups have collectively won 10 South Carolina Marching Band State Championships and 2 Bands of America Regional Championships. As a Winter Guard instructor, he has earned numerous championships in the Carolina Indoor Performance Association. He began his WGI career as the founding director of Infiniti Winter Guard, South Carolina’s first Independent Winter Guard. Under his direction, Infiniti Winter Guard was the first group from South Carolina to compete in WGI World Championships. In 2000, Infiniti was the first group from South Carolina to win a WGI World Championship title. To date, their score stands as the 3rd highest in Independent A class history. He also served as the Assistant Director for The Cast Winter Guard, 2007 WGI Independent A Silver Medalist. Mr. Mooney came to CV as the Guard Caption Head in the 2009 season. Adding Program Coordinator to his duties in 2010, the corps brought one of their most popular shows to the field with “360”. Continuing to move the corps in a slightly different direction in 2011, the corps explored the music of Shostakovich among others with their show “Dusk to Dawn”. The color guard program was the corps strongest caption in 2011, finishing as high as fifth in prelims at Championships.
